What is Urethane Casting?

Urethane casting is the process of injecting polyurethane and additive resins into a soft mould that is usually made of silicone elastomer. Urethane casting is usually applied on short-runs and low to medium volume production.

Urethane Casting process:

First, we need a master model. The master model can be made by 3D printing or CNC machining. 

After getting the master, we hang it in a container and pour liquid silicone rubber. The silicone starts as a liquid and cures to the solid mould. We then cut the silicone mould and remove the master mould.

At last, we pour the resin into silicone mould.  It cures to the same shape as the master mould. mold.
