Sub-dash Board-CNC Machining Case Study
The following project was for a well-known automobile company for which we have provided prototyping and small-batch trial productions. The company wanted to remodel a model, and the company's mass production supplier couldn't deliver the new sub-dashboard within the time required. As a result, the customer cannot verify the structure and color matching effect of the new sub-dashboard, which affects the progress of the vehicle renovation. So they needed our expertise for remodelling.
From the client's project inquiry, the following obstacles were clear. The structure and colour of the new dashboard had to be verified. The colour matching process had an impact on the rest of the vehicle. The structure verification process also affected the product assembly. Additionally, the accuracy of the product size had to be guaranteed. A high-level surface finishing process was necessary to meet the client's requirements.
We identified the CNC machining method as the best fit to create the prototypes. This process ensured product accuracy and colour effects through the surface finishing process. The client adopted our solution and required 15 days to complete the project.
Project Analysis
The difficulty of this project was to ensure dimensional accuracy and achieve a perfect surface treatment effect. We disassembled the project according to the structure and production process.
▷ Structural disassembly
We divided the production process into wood graining, electroplating, painting and leather coating.

Process Plan
Our calculated process plan ensures the quality and timely delivery of the project.
Process Plan
CNC machining of each part according to the structure disassembly.
The team assembled each preliminary processed part into a complete product.
After the surface treatment of the original product, the final assembly will strictly follow the DTS standard to assemble and debug each part to the best condition. Then clean and pack the product.
